Welcome to the New 2018 KATS website. Please pardon the dust.

Big Limits and Even Bigger Prizes on Gibbons

As soon as I pulled up to Gibbons Creek and saw the lake for the first time all I could see was awesome structure. Grass, lily pads, flooded timber and, according to some of the guys, incredible humps and drop offs throughout the lake. This lake looked like Bass heaven and I knew we were going to see some impressive stringers caught! This was also the last regular season event for freshwater, which means we crowned Kayak Angler of the Year and announced our current Classic Standings thus far (these will be covered in a separate write up which you can read here). The weather was brutal on Gibbons Creek this past Saturday with a high of 93 and 95% + humidity throughout the day with hardly any wind all day. A handful of anglers came in early just to grab some water because it was so humid!

Without further ado here are your impressive results from Gibbons Creek! In first place with an impressive 101.25″ stringer was Ryan Herzog! In second we have Guillermo Gonzalez with a great 97″ stringer total, followed by Ervin Coonrod in third with 93.5″. In fourth place was Greg Blanchard with 90.5″ and his score may have just been enough to keep him in the top spot for Kayak Angler of the Year (find out if he did here)! In fifth place was Troy Lawson with 90.25″. In first place in our social division, and also his first time ever fishing KATS with 66″ was Justin Minton! The ladies have been tearing it up in the social division this season and it’s awesome to see! In second we have Ana Jacobson with 56″ followed by Patt Martin with 40.5″.

All Winners Sponsor Pic

Ryan Herzog took home Big Bass with a whopping 25″ toad while Scott Cole won the mystery tackle bag which was a gift certificate to Tackle Warehouse! Brandon Campbell won the charity raffle NRS Inflatable Pike fishing kayak. We also threw in a Yeti Hopper 30 into the charity raffle and Dawson Merrill was the lucky winner! Don’t forget to check out the recap on Kayak Angler of the Year and the Classic Standings! Thanks again to everyone who came out on a grueling Texas day and as always to our awesome sponsors!
