We finally had a non-weather concerning day for the ever popular Lake Travis. The forecast looked clear and hot as the anglers gathered together at Opie’s BBQ for the roadrunner event. Not only was this the last event of the regular season, this was the last chance for the anglers to battle it out for a spot in our Classic Elite Championship, and we were crowing a new Angler of the Year.
The anglers gathered back at Opie’s after a hard day on the water for some BBQ and brews as MC Siebs got us started. In the Social Division, Mr. Armanzo Saucedo took first with 78.75”, Followed by Larry Fissler with 72” then Justin Yeager with 71.75”.
Mr. Andrew Dixon took home Biggest Bass with a 22” stringer. Mark Clay was our Mystery Tackle Bag winner, and Joseph Sanderson won the pitching contest for a NRS Package.
After announcing our Lake Travis tournament winners, it was time to crown our new Angler of the Year. With the highest score from his top 5 events for the regular season, Guillermo Gonzales is our new AOY with 483 points, following him was Michael Hanson with 466 points, then Matt Moccia with 465 points.
For the first time ever in our tournament trail, we also crowned a Junior Angler of the Year, thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor. All anglers under the age of 18 before the first tournament we eligible to enter. Kayden Drake took home the title with a total of 100.75” for his five biggest fish in the series.
A HUGE thank you goes out to our sponsors who make this series possible! Please go thank them and show them some love!
